Ambassador Extraordinary and PH.E. Mrs. Ebyan Mahamed Salah.lenipotentiary Dean of Arab League Missions in New DelhiH.E. Ebyan Mahamed Salah, is the current Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of India and the Dean of Arab League Missions in New Delhi as well as the Deputy Dean of the African Head of Missions in New Delhi.
Ms. Ebyan Salah was a Policy and Gender advisor to the Prime Minister of Somalia. Under the premier Office, she was the Focal point for the Coordination Mechanism Committee CMC for Somalia led by the Prime Minister of Somalia and the UNSRSG.
Ms. Ebyan served an Advisor to the Ministry of Women Development and Family affairs, Ministry of Education. Mainly, developed and facilitated appropriate projects on Capacity and Institutional building supported by the Prime Minister Office and International Community, such as EU and UNDP.
In 2006, she was a senior advisor and Focal Point for the Reconstruction and Development Program for Somalia known as the first Joint Need Assessment JNA led by the United Nations, the World Bank and Transitional Federal Government of Somalia. In early 2007 she was also a Senior Advisor to the Committee of National Peace and Reconciliation Conference from the Prime Minister Office that led by H.E. Ali Mahdi.
Between 1998-2004 Ms. Salah was an Executive Director of Som-Can Institute for Research and Development; Non-Governmental Organization advocated and promoted peace and development through dialogue and researches in Ottawa, Canada. In 1995-She worked with the Justice Department of Canada as a Policy Analyst Researcher from Carleton University, focused on immigrant women in Canada.
Ms. Salah was a Board Member of the C Immigrants Service in Ottawa, Canada. She was a Co-founder and member of Somali Women’s Circle Network SWCN in Ottawa, Canada, an organization supports Somali Women’s Leadership for Peace and Development. Ms. Salah has been given several prestigious awards from Government of India, particularly Ministry of Commerce and Industry, different institutions in India such as Amity University, Symposia University, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Delhi Study Group, The Times of Africa, Surad Students and Somali Community in India.
Ms. Salah is a graduate from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada and accomplished her B.A Honors and M.A Political Sociology. She also had a B.Com of Business Administration and Management from Pune College, at Pune University, India.
Ms. Salah speaks Somali, English and Modern Arabic.
H.E. Ebyan Mahamed Salah is a mother of four.
